Fly lets the character move through the air without ever touching the ground

  • Sources: Natural, Prana or Primal
  • Target: Self
  • Duration: Maintained
  • Range: Self
  • Cost: 1 Base Points for 1 meters of Flight, 4 Base Points for double Sprint speed
  • Available Additional Effects: Charges, Dispel Resistance, Persistent, Trigger
  • Characteristics Bonus: +2 meters of Fly for every 5 Charisma or Intelligence

The character uses magic to propel themselves through the air. Fly works just like other forms of movement, except that the character has limited mobility while moving.

  • During a movement, flying characters can only turn at up to 45 degree angles; in other words, if a character flying forward wants to move back the other direction, they must move diagonally forward to change their facing until they're pointed in the direction they want to move.
  • Characters can hover and stay in place without consuming an action as long as they are Maintaining flight.
  • Activating Flight doesn't consume an action, since it's used while moving. However, attempting to stay in-flight over multiple rounds without touching the ground requires additional energy, taking the form of a Maintained energy cost. This costs 2 Stamina per 5 Base Points the character has in Fly, though the character need not pay

this over multiple rounds. Like other Maintained Powers, the character cannot recover this Stamina for as long as they are sustaining flight.

  • If a character's flight is Dispelled while they're in the air, they fall to the ground and take falling damage as normal.

Source-Specific Effects:

  • Natural: Natural Flight cannot take Limitations, doesn't receive a Characteristics bonus, and requires the character to have 2 wings as Extra Limbs to function, but it cannot be Dispelled. The character also receives an additional meter of flight for every 2 Agility, since their ability to fly is as natural as running to them.
